Shaker Heritage Society

The mission of the Shaker Heritage Society is to celebrate and interpret America's first Shaker settlement and to preserve it for the benefit of future generations.

The vision of the Shaker Heritage Society is to be a nationally recognized interpretive center dedicated to educational programming regarding the Shakers, their history, their innovative spirit and influence on American culture.

Collections:
Eight Shaker buildings, Small collection of Shaker textiles and decorative arts. Non-circulating resource library.

Programs:
Craft fairs, on and off site k-12 programs tied to NYS learning standards, craft workshops, music and dance. Specialized programs for nursing home residents.

Accessiblility:
Wheelchair access to Meeting House.

Additional Info:
Site of the first Shaker community includes herb garden, apple orchard and cemetery where Shaker founder, Ann Lee is buried.

Admission Details:
Free admission. Nominal fee for guided tours, programs and events.

Hours:
Open Tuesday-Saturday 9:30am-4:00pm. Closed January. Guided tours Saturdays June-October at 11:30 & 1:30pm or by appt.
