Pamplin Historical Park and the National Museum of the Civil War Soldier

Pamplin Historical Park is located on a 422-acre campus in Dinwiddie County, Virginia, six miles from Petersburg and 31 miles south of Richmond. The Park contains four museums, features a Civil War Adventure Camp, an extensive costumed interpretive program, and preserves the site of a major Civil War battlefield. Pamplin Historical Park, a privately owned 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization, employs more than 55 people and is a major historical attraction with an ambitious expansion plan. Please visit our website at www.pamplinpark.org for more information.

Programs:
Pamplin Historical Park's 422 acres encompass an outstanding array of museums, antebellum homes, historic venues and interpreted battlefield trails. Excellent living history programs and guided tours compliment these exceptional features.

Collections:
The Battlefield Center houses a splendid collection of artifacts related to The Breakthrough Battle that took place on this ground. Uniforms, regimental and corps flags, personal items, and photographs accompany relics that were unearthed from the battlefield. A fiber-optic map tells of the campaigning of the armies.

Accessibility:
The National Museum and Battlefield Center have restrooms and exhibit halls that are fully accessible. The Tudor Hall basement exhibits are fully accessible and there is an ADA package on the rest of the house available upon request. The log quarter at the Field Quarter is accessible, however the frame quarter and Slavery in America exhibit is not accessible. Alternative interpretation is available upon request. The Banks House pathways are accessible to those who can negotiate grades, but the inside exhibit areas are not accessible. The internal paths are fully accessible. The Breakthrough Trail is accessible to persons who are able to negotiate steeper grades and uneven surfaces.
