Program Description:
A coeducational intensive six-week summer program for college juniors/seniors and recent B.A.s interested in careers in art museums. Classroom sessions, field trips to meet professionals in museums throughout New England and NYC, and a class-organized exhibition, with catalogue, at the Smith College Museum of Art.

The Smith College Museum of Art is widely recognized as one of the most distinguished college museums in the U.S., with nearly 25,000 objects and particular strength in 19th- and 20th- century European and American art.

Institution Description:
Smith College is a highly competitive liberal arts college for women, located in western Massachusetts. The Summer Institute in Art Museum Studies makes use of state-of-the-art facilities in the Brown Fine Arts Center.
