What type of coverage you need depends on who you are and what you do. Coverages include: Personal Fine Arts – For private collectors, covers your personal art collection while in your possession or on loan to others. Corporate Fine Arts – For corporate collections, covers corporately owned art collections while on the corporate premises or on loan to others. Commercial Fine Arts – For artists, conservators, framers, galleries, private dealers, antiques dealers, auction houses, consultants and art shippers/ packers/ handlers. Covers the artwork owned by you as well as the items in your care, custody and control for business purposes. Permanent Fine Arts Collections – For museums and cultural institutions, covers collections on the premises, at any other location and in transit. It includes the museum or institution's property, property approved to be purchased, property in which there is a joint interest, and property on long-term loan (usually more than six months). Fine Arts Temporary Loans – For museums, cultural institutions, and commercial galleries, this coverage is designed to protect property of others on temporary loan to your museum, gallery or exhibition, or your property that is on loan to others. Exhibitions – For museums and cultural institutions that also arrange and coordinate exhibitions, this coverage provides special protection for the works of art that are involved, whether they are owned or borrowed, and no matter where the exhibition is held. Fine Arts Legal Liability – Usually written as an enhancement to commercial fine arts and permanent fine arts collections policies, this coverage protects you against legal liability (negligence) claims for damage to works of art which you have been instructed not to insure. |
